About the Opportunity
The primary goal of this position is to offer comprehensive guidance on planning matters to developers, ratepayers, the public, staff, and Council members. The role involves providing crucial support to the Manager of Development Services in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Planning Team. This ensures that Council fulfills its legal obligations and deadlines while delivering top-notch certification services to the community. Responsibilities include executing tasks outlined in relevant Planning and Environmental legislation, regulations, codes, and Council policies with efficiency and professionalism to safeguard both the built and natural environment.
What you need to be successful:
- A tertiary qualification in Town or Urban Planning or other related degree.
- A minimum of three years of experience in NSW planning consultancy or NSW local government planning department.
- Excellent working knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, State Environmental Planning Policies and other Acts and legislation as applicable.
- Demonstrated experience in dealing with difficult situations including negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Well-developed self-management skills with the ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload and demonstrate commitment to task completion.
- Current Driver’s Licence
The Successful applicant will need to provide a satisfactory National Police check and will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical.
