Planning Officer
Wattle Range Council forms part of the picturesque Limestone Coast Region. Nestled in the South East corner of South Australia, the Council stretches from the sea to the Victorian border and incorporates the Coonawarra wine district.
The Planning Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the planning assessment, approval, and control function within the Wattle Range Council is carried out in accordance with the Planning, Development and Infrastructure (PDI) Act 2016, (and Development Act 1993 as necessary) relevant legislation, codes and standards. Assist Council in undertaking strategic planning processes to aid in shaping the future direction of the region and to provide advice and technical expertise to Council, the public and external parties in a professional manner.
We are looking for someone with:
- Bachelor/Master/Grad Dip of Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent as recognised in the Planning, Development & Infrastructure Act Accreditation Scheme. The successful applicant must hold or have completed 50% of a relevant tertiary planning qualification.
- Accredited Professional Planner (under the Planning, Development & Infrastructure Act Accreditation Scheme) minimum Level 4 or able to obtain.
- Demonstrated experience as a Planning Officer.
- Knowledge, understanding and experience with South Australia planning the PDI Act and development assessment.
An attractive remuneration package in the range of $84,609 – $90,201 is on offer based on experience, plus 11.5% superannuation. This position is full-time and entitled to a rostered day off each month.
