Planner
Our company has worked with our government and industry clients to shape and support growth across NSW for over 12 years. We are looking for a Planner who wants to build on their existing skills to take on a range of new projects to be specifically involved in development approvals, rezonings and acquisitions. Importantly, we are looking for someone who can grow with our company and earn the trust of our clients.

The position
This person will bring a can do attitude, have experience working as a planner and is keen to be involved and learn more to develop their skills. Three to six years of experience within development assessment teams of local government or consultancy is preferrable. You will be exposed to a range of planning matters and assist in a variety of projects with the aim being for you to ultimately grow within our company and take on bigger projects. The role would typically have you:
- Working with a team of Directors and Senior Planners
- Navigating approval pathways and providing clear advice
- Preparing Statements of Environmental Effects
- Coordinating the preparation and lodgement of Development Applications
- Liaising with Council staff to monitor and progress approvals
- Meetings with clients as part of our large scale projects
- Contributing to the preparation of Planning Proposals and Development Control Plans
- Working on highest and best use proposals and land acquisitions
- Reviewing Statement of Facts and Contentions and preparing initial responses as part of Land and Environment Court Appeals
- Preparing quotes and pricing projects
- Staying up to date with the latest planning reforms
As you earn our trust, and our client’s trust, we see a planner in this role being able to lead the day to day delivery of their projects and progressing to a more senior position.
Location: Sydney CBD
Key selection criteria
- Bachelors degree in Town planning or related field
- Preferrable to have between 3 to 6 years experience working in the NSW planning system, preferably within local government or consultancy
- Interest in taking on projects in the Growth Areas of Western Sydney and the Illawarra region
- Sound ability to analyse sites, approval pathways and interpret legislation, an understanding of the Codes SEPP, Housing SEPP and Western Parkland City SEPP is preferrable
- Ability to produce clear and professionally written reports
- Good interpersonal and organisational skills
- NSW Drivers Licence
