The Rural City of Murray Bridge is located 75 kilometres from Adelaide with a population of approximately 22,000 people. Position Objective:
Reporting to Manager Development and Regulation, you will negotiate and coordinate the land division process from pre-application lodgement through to delivery in consultation with developers, development assessment and engineering teams.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Influence planning outcomes in pre-lodgement and lodgement phases to ensure the delivery of coordinated, planned and cohesive outcome between developments.
- Negotiate with developers to facilitate the provision of strategic infrastructure in accordance with Council identified priorities
- Provide direction and advice to the planning and engineering teams on essential infrastructure provision and coordination requirements for land division and key housing project applications.
- Manage any deed/agreement finalisation, implementation and operational processes for the growth areas including negotiation with external parties
- Provide advice to stakeholders at all stages of the land division process
The successful candidate will have qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering or similar. Proven experience in the planning and delivery of land divisions and greenfield land projects is essential, together with project management experience and a background in developing and improving systems and processes.
You will require knowledge of planning assessment including using the Development Assessment Portal and SAPPA. Highly developed communication skills, including the ability to facilitate conflict resolution and negotiate with a range of stakeholders will be fundamental to this dynamic new role. Candidates with sound financial and political acumen and the ability to understand and interpret relevant legal documentation will be highly regarded.
