What you'll be doing
This is an exciting opportunity to obtain an in-depth understanding of the planning framework associated with bushfire protection in New South Wales, as part of the Development Assessment and Planning Team within the Rural Fire Service. The role offers exposure to bushfire risk assessment related to a range of developments on bushfire-prone land needing compliance with the legislative, policy, and procedural requirements as
delegated to the service.
To thrive in the role, you will:
- Be able to independently and efficiently manage a high volume of development applications and strategic planning proposals from Local and State Government Authorities
- Have the ability to research and analyse information to identify and address issues for negotiating outcomes
- Provide high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders and have the ability to develop relationships across government agencies to assist and educate industry in providing bushfire outcomes commensurate with the potential risk, standards, mitigation, and bushfire protection
