We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated Statutory Planning Coordinator to join Council’s high performing Statutory Planning Services team at Nillumbik.

What a typical day will look like;

Reporting to the Manager Planning and Environmental Health, this position plays a key leadership role to drive the delivery of a customer focussed, timely and professional statutory planning service with a strong culture of staff and community engagement and continuous improvement and innovation.

What you will bring to the role;

• Effective leadership with a positive impact on culture, customer experience and service performance
• An engaged and productive team created through a focus on performance and team development
• Outstanding customer and stakeholder outcomes achieved through effective stakeholder engagement and a collaborative one- team approach
• Ensuring planning applications are determined in accordance with the relevant legislative and policy framework, with a focus on quality and rigorous evidenced based decision-making, and within statutory timeframes
• An industry leading effective and efficient service, delivered through a continuous improvement culture, effective business processes and creative thinking and innovation.

Key leadership skills;

• Experience in leading hybrid teams
• Highly developed Emotional Intelligence
• Demonstrated experience in leading and supporting the health and wellbeing of self and others
• Enjoys leading and managing staff, including demonstrated experience in implementing cultural and engagement strategies to drive a great employee experience
• Adaptive and flexible leadership.
