About Your Opportunity
Reporting to our Integrated Planning Coordinator, you will provide technical expertise internally and provide professional, best-practise advice to external stakeholders on the future use of Seqwater’s property portfolio and adjacent catchment lands. This includes guidance on strategic land use, planning and recreational opportunities.
Please note, this is a part time (0.4 FTE) fixed term temporary opportunity until 1st of January 2026.
Key responsibilities:
- Contribute to the unit’s successful delivery of planning outputs through development assessment and implementation. Ensure that these outputs continue to contribute significantly to the long-term planning direction for Seqwater’s portfolio of built and natural assets, including performance, reliability, capacity, resilience and contingency measures.
- Maintain appropriate collaboration and integration with other units, teams and groups within Seqwater, to provide for the most effective and well informed long-term outcomes.
- Coordinate responses to development applications affecting Seqwater interests in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Coordinate and implement systems and training for development assessment.
Hours and Locations
This 0.4FTE part-time position is fully flexible in location (within South East Queensland) and the set days of work can be negotiated with the team.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in town planning or urban and regional planning
- Evidence of continuous professional development and a minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in either of the above disciplines.
- Postgraduate qualification in environmental management or environmental science (desirable)
- An unrestricted C Class Driver's license.
- Significant knowledge in the field of development assessment and strategic planning and demonstrated experience in negotiation, exercising judgement and problem solving based on planning principles.
This position has a salary starting at $104,668.84 p.a. plus 12.75% superannuation and is a temporary position until the 1st of January 2026.
Appointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and may be subject to other medical/character requirements. Please note that people with criminal records are not automatically deemed ineligible. Each application will be considered on its merits.
