Exemption certificates - how to use them, when is it best to use them, when are they not appropriate

An exemption certificate is a tool designed to deal with the inappropriate categorisation of development and release the owner of premises from the need to get approval for assessable development.

This seminar seeks to demystify the rules around exemption certificates, by answering the following questions:

• Under what circumstances can they be given?
• Who can give an exemption certificate?
• When can an exemption certificate be given?
• Can an exemption certificate be conditioned?
• Can an exemption certificate be appealed?

The discussion will also cover any relevant case law.
