Join Candace Jarrett, Director of Neish People, as she delves into some of the big questions:

And provides some practical tips for managing stress and tackling competing priorities so that you can be clear on your boundaries and go after the work/life balance you dream of.

Candace has nearly two decades of experience in Urban & Environmental Planning and development, predominantly in private consultancy in South-East Queensland. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Environmental Planning and a Graduate Diploma in Project Management cultivating a robust skill set that spans various aspects of the industry. While Candace continues to actively serve her loyal base of long-term clientele as a Planner, her commitment to the industry now extends beyond traditional roles. Drawing upon her extensive experience, she now offers invaluable consultancy services in career development, mentoring, professional skill enhancement, training and specialised recruitment, aiming to providing individuals and businesses with strategic guidance to achieve their goals.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Candace has a strong interest in property investment and development. This includes having undertaken and project-managed many of her own "reno" projects (often in whilst still living in them!) showcasing her dedication, resourcefulness and resilience. Amidst her professional pursuits, Candace prioritises her role as a devoted mother to three beautiful children, one of whom has ASD.
With a wealth of experience, a multifaceted skill set and a genuine passion for encouraging and empowering others, Candace strives to make a lasting impact in the industry while embracing the joys and challenges of running her own business, parenthood and personal growth.

The Queensland Women in Planning Network’s Development Series is back for 2024.
As planners, we all play a role in shaping cities, communities, and regions. We can supercharge this role throughout our careers by seeking out continued professional growth and taking up opportunities to build confidence and capacity.
The 2024 ‘Know your’ Development Series continues to recognise the importance of developing soft skills – an importance that cannot be overstated in today’s rapidly evolving professional landscape.
The three-part series is suitable for all planners, from students and emerging planners through to leadership roles in both the public and private sectors.
The series is delivered online to allow you to join us from wherever your work may take you.

Session 3 - Know your network

Speaker: Hannah Greig, HR Strategist, Ford HR
Hannah is a human resources professional with a passion for diversity and inclusion. She has worked within HR positions for the majority of her career, mainly as an internal business partner and now acts as a consultant within Ford HR, working with businesses to strategically enhance their people-power.
Hannah has always been an advocate for improving the overall position of women in business, and having two young daughters of her own has only further cemented this drive. She believes in genuine connection driving business outcomes and networking plays a big part in this.
Having a double degree in Arts and Education, a Diploma in HR Management, and a Diploma in Business and Event Management, alongside her work with clients helping to improve professional and leadership skills, Hannah is passionate about education, networking, and professional development.
