Big data/small data.. is there a difference and why will it matter to planners? This session introduces the concept and practice of place data and place measurement. We will discuss the different data sets and tools that anyone can use, as well as the emerging commercial data landscape - from ABS, to liveability, social media, spend, phone and more. Case studies for parks, main streets and neighbourhoods will be shared with the group considering the full spectrum of uses for place data - from decision making to capturing return on investment.
