Our home choices: how more housing options can make better use of Victoria’s existing infrastructure
Infrastructure Victoria’s ‘Our Home Choices’ report expands discourse around understanding the housing supply and affordability crisis. The research has made a demonstrable contribution to the industry since its release earlier in the year and has proven to be a catalyst in shifting public attention toward the importance of planning in delivering inclusive, healthy, and liveable cities.
Infrastructure Victoria has prepared a comprehensive report which is supported by extensive research, including diverse stakeholder engagement. The research has ‘looked inward’ to deepen the understanding of household preferences, home choices and ‘trade-offs’, and balancing growth across the state.
Findings in the research has reinforced the need for reform in Victoria. The policy options provided through the research emphasise the need for a holistic approach in the delivery of improved housing delivery and outcomes, to increase the delivery and uptake of housing in established suburbs.
