This self-paced hybrid course and toolkit provide concrete strategies for incorporating equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) into labs and research teams. In completing the course, participants will build a working understanding of foundational EDI concepts, understand how to embed EDI in research processes and systems and how to foster a collaborative research environment rooted in equity and excellence.

This self-paced online course provides practical strategies that help scholars embed EDI into research assessment. There are certain moments in which a scholar might be in a position of power to adjudicate the merits of another’s research profile. In these moments, a scholar may decide whose research is amplified, funded, and cited, and who is hired and promoted. This course provides guidance for scholars as they deliberate on others’ work by providing practical considerations and strategies for how EDI can shape research assessment.
