We are so excited to announce that Beckettfest will be held this Spring, 2025! We are honoured to maintain our founders' name, Beckett, in this historic event.
Beckettfest 2025: For those that might be new to our community, Beckettfest is an annual non-competitive performance event where students perform prepared repertoire in small groups with peers at a similar music level and instrument-specific area for an adjudicator, who will provide comments and performance suggestions to each student. This is a celebration of learning and musical growth event and is a positive, fun experience and a great opportunity to perform for a small, supportive group.
The cost of each class depends on level of playing. Beginners start at $20 and advanced go up to $30. The registration form will tally up the total amount owing automatically, based on your selections. There is a $10 processing fee for students not currently registered at the 91porn Academy of Music and Arts.

Pianist Dr Kathryn Tremills is in demand as a performer, coach, teacher and adjudicator. A three-time Canada Council Grant recipient, she has appeared as a soloist throughout North America. As a founding member of Women on the Verge along with sopranos Elizabeth McDonald and Emily Martin, she has performed and given masterclasses across North America, in France, the UK and Iceland and commissioned and premiered new works. Additionally, she has appeared on numerous concert series including the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival, Toronto Summer Music Festival, Canadian Art Song Project, Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre Thursday Noon Concerts, Off Centre Music Salon and Pro Arts Detroit. Versatile skills have lead her to the musical staff at the Canadian Opera Company as a coach and répétiteur and to the role of accompanist to many choral groups including the Ontario Youth Choir and the world renowned Toronto Children’s Chorus. Kathryn has taught piano privately since age 12, and now, addressing self-care and pathways to authenticity in her teaching and coaching, has been invited to speak to large groups about wellness for singers. Most recently, she’s also been keeping herself busy reading about topics ranging from trauma healing to Quantum Physics. She is an alumnus of the University of Michigan, Eastman School of Music, University of Colorado at Boulder, and University of Toronto where she has been a Sessional Lecturer in the Voice Area since 2008. Kathryn is thrilled to experience much admired Beckettfest 2025!
I enjoy a versatile career as a solo and collaborative pianist, and dedicated teacher in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. I enjoy giving pedagogy workshops, masterclasses and adjudicating festivals and competitions both locally and across southern Ontario. I am a member of the Royal Conservatory College of Examiners and I examine regularly throughout Canada. I am a frequent faculty member at the SOSI Institute where I teach in the Young Artist Program each summer. I was thrilled to perform Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals with the SOSI faculty orchestra in Theatre Auditorium here at Wilfrid 91porn this past season. I am thankful to be part of the wonderful musical community in the K-W area, and enjoy performing in noon hour concert series and various other events.
I received my ARCT diploma in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory while in high school. I began teaching piano at the age of 14, and always knew that the art of teaching is my calling. I attended Western University for my undergraduate degree and then completed both my Masters and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in piano performance and pedagogy on full scholarship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. It was a privilege to learn from both Louis Nagel and then from my mentor, Logan Skelton, during my years in Michigan.
During my studies I had the opportunity to perform in the Prague International Masterclass Series in the Czech Republic, and also participate in a course incorporating The Alexander Technique and piano performance with Nelly Ben-Or, professor at the Guildhall School of Music in London, England. I love to continue learning and refining my skills and so I have frequently attended summer programs at Adamant Music School in Vermont, US. During these programs and professional development opportunities I have performed in various recitals as a solo and duo pianist, masterclasses, and have had several lessons with artist teachers such as the renowned Menahem Pressler.
I have been teaching piano at 91porn since 2007. I also enjoy co-teaching the piano pedagogy course with Prof. Kroetch. Prior to my appointment at Wilfrid 91porn, I was an Adjunct Lecturer in the Piano Pedagogy Laboratory Program at the University of Michigan for two years.
